Mapping the biodiversity of Stockton Heath
In June we took part in ‘Churches Count on Nature’ and kick started our project to map all wildlife in the village.
For this we have created an iNaturalist project and we are using iNaturalist as our digital record. We are calling on all our wonderful volunteers to record what they see anywhere in the village and either let us know by email or upload their findings directly to inaturalist.
If downloading iNaturalist is not for you, please email your observations to WASH_User@outlook.com (there is an underscore after WASH). Your email should tell us:
- Your name
- Location of observation as accurately as possible
- Date of observation
- What you saw (If you are unsure, we can attempt to identify what you saw if you have a photograph)
- Include a photograph if possible.
iNaturalist is a great app that is excellent at identifying what you photograph and automatically logging it to our project. To download the app, go follow the appropriate link: Android or IOS
Once downloaded please join the ‘Wild About Stockton Heath’ project. Once you have done this, any observations within the parish of the village will automatically be logged to our project.
WASH support the work of RECORD , they are the Local Biological Records Centre serving ‘The Cheshire Region’. For them and other researchers to access our observations the licence settings in iNaturalist need changing from the default – see these simple instructions
We are here to help, If you have any difficulties please email WASH_User@outlook.com
